ID-MUX

  • Access device for the delivery of ISDN, TDM and IP services
  • ISDN (Q.931) switching functionality with support for 2 PR and 8 BR interfaces
  • TDM support for Nx64k TDM ports
  • IP Routing functionality with 10Base-T port
  • Least Cost Routing with Carrier Select Prefix.
  • Least Cost Switching between two ISDN networks.
  • On board SNMP agent facilitates management, SNMP, Telnet and TFTP.
  • Remote control via B-channel based on PPP protocol.
  • Modular concept with virtual upgrades

This service multiplexer can provide a combination of services including ISDN (Basic Rate or Primary Rate), IP Ethernet and Nx64k leased line services, while using only a single (or multiple) 2 Mbps access line.  It offers an attractive solution for carriers and business that want to interconnect multiple services, using the classical 2 Mbps access infrastructure.

The ID-MUX features

  • 8 BRI lines
  • 2 E1/PRI lines
  • 1 LAN port
  • 4 optional synchronous X21/V35/V36 ports (Nx64k)
  • 1 control port

The multiplexing is based on a combination of ISDN switching (according to Euro-ISDN/Q.931), cross-connect and TDM multiplexing. This makes the equipment particularly suitable for interfacing with backbones based on classical voice switches, cross-connect systems and SDH infrastructures.

Additionally, the ID-MUX also includes least cost ISDN switching, carrier prefix dialling, and number-replacement. This makes it also suitable as a migration path from an incumbent Telco company to a new carrier.
